The University of Montevallo’s student-produced newscast, “Vallo Vision News,” began rehearsals last week. The rehearsal marked the first time that new studio and control room were used to simulate what a television station is like in the real world.

Multiple classes in UM’s Mass Communication Program work together to provide content for “Vallo Vision News,” produce the stories and fill the technical jobs.

In addition to newscast rehearsals, students also created a commercial to preview the newscast’s new look. In addition to a custom set, “Vallo Vison News” also has a completely new graphics package.

Students who will be on air anchoring the newscast also got to take part in a commercial for “Vallo Vision News,” which can be viewed above. The commercial has been posted on the newscast’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.
