The new Taco Bell on Mainstreet is nearing completion and students are excited that the wait is almost over.
An online petition signed by over 300 students caught the quick-service giant’s attention earlier on this year, and plans were made to open the restaurant by late summer.
“We have a Moe’s, but Taco Bell is cheaper, it’s quicker in some cases, so I was pretty excited to hear about it,” Said Rosalie, an English major at Montevallo.
Unfortunately, scheduling set-backs pushed the ribbon-cutting further into the fall, delaying the grand-opening.

But progress is rapidly being made and soon, college students will be lined up to get their fill of tacos and chalupas.
Already the foundation for the large patio has been laid, and the interior which can sit up to 63 people, is almost finished.
Taco Bell on Mainstreet is currently wrapping up construction and is scheduled to open late October.
