FalCon this year was held during Oct. 14 and 15 at Myrick Hall and Comer Hall.
FalCon is an event held every October and was originally started by students who wanted to share their love of anime and games with others.
Those who attended this year came dressed up as favorite characters from books, movies, animes, and video games. They also played games, went to panels, and shopped at the Dealer’s Room in Myrick.
The Dealer’s Room was were attendees signed in, paid for tickets, and got to look around at the merchandise.
Merchandise, ranging from plush toys and action figures to comic books and artwork, was sold by artists and companies alike.
One company in particular was there, Akioboy.
The woman running the booth, only going by Shawni, explained how conventions like FalCon helped them gain recognition and strengthen their brand.
“It’s also a lot of fun getting to meet fans,” Shawni had said.
Panels and gaming competitions were held in Comer Hall.
One of the panels was on voice acting.
Kaiji Tang, a known voice actor for animes including Kill La Kill, ran the panel. He invited audience members to read scripts with him and offered tips on how to better their voice acting.
When costumes began to get warm and people began to get hungry, FalCon opened the doors to their Cafe.
Some of the treats sold included hot dogs, pizza and soda.
