Montevallo AAUW Branch held a female politics talk with political science professor Dr. Andrea Eckleman.

Dr. Eckelman presented faculty and students with the facts of where women stand in politics.

Women are nearly 20 percent of the politicians currently in office, and still, about 12 states have never had a female governor.

Most women feel that they are not qualified to run for office. Eckelman cleared the air by shedding light on the very minimal qualifications needed to run for office.

This event comes in time to remind everyone of the December election and that the deadline to change your registration is November 27.

Everyone has a role to play in the political makeup of our government.

If you are not interested in running for office, you can have a responsibility to vote.

American Association of University Women is an organization that covers a multitude of things and has opportunities for every woman in any major.

AAUW membership is free for all Montevallo female students.
