Every year at the end of October, the City of Montevallo dresses up and hosts it’s annual Art Stalk. It serves a dual purpose: bringing more business to Main Street as well as showcasing Montevallo’s local talent to the rest of Alabama (and the world!).
This year featured a blacksmith, as well as a craftsman who makes guitars out of old cigar boxes.
There was also another artist present whose name you may recognize: Tim Tingle, the man who carved the faces in Orr Park.

Organized twice every year with the help of the University of Montevallo and the Montevallo Arts Council, the Art Stalk is actually a bi-annual event, with the Spring version being called an “Art Walk”.
Student artists appreciate the exposure, and the chance to make money. For them, the Art Stalk seemed like a boon.
“I sold a pretty good bit today.” said artist Katie McCormick.

Luthier Timothy Hollis Jr. sold a Bob Marley-style guitar before the festival was half over.
