Play-On Montevallo is an event hosted by the University of Montevallo’s Cosplay Association and Anime Club.

Play-On is an event created by Extra Life, an organization that utilizes donations and game play to bring awareness to Children’s Miracle Networks.

This year, the group was playing for Children’s of Birmingham.

“It’s just a really fun way to raise money and awareness,” Rebecca Joiner, a member of the Anime Club said.

The event was held at the top floor of Comer Hall, with participants bringing games to play and snacks to enjoy.

Games played by participants varied from computer games to Playstation games, to even X-Box or card games.

Daniel Lewis came to show his support and play games at the event. “I don’t get to play often with my schedule, but this is one way to get in at least a week’s worth of gaming.”

All money raised was sent to to Children’s of Birmingham in hopes the money will ease financial burdens of the children’s families or find potential cures.
