The city of Montevallo had it’s very first Christmas tree lighting on November 30, 2017 in front of the Main Street Post Office followed by their annual Christmas parade.
Montevallo has been doing the Christmas parade for more than twenty years now. Families come from all over Montevallo to enjoy looking at the decorated floats, bands, and organizations march and ride down main street.

Even though the parade is for everyone, the kids enjoyed it the most. As the floats and people went buy they there candy to fill up their goody bags.
Colton Smith says that is one of favorite parts about the parade, “My favorite part is when the people come through on the big trucks and they hunk the horn and throw the candy.”
Montevallo will continue on with their parade traditions for the years to come.
