Most college students do not know what they want to do after graduation.
Shuneca Harrington, the general sales manager at WRBL News 3 in Columbus, Ga, was no exception.
She used internships as an opportunity to find her passion.
“I did a sales internship at that radio station, and then I did a sales internship at a tv station, back in my hometown of Charleston, South Carolina. I knew it was the field that I wanted to get into,” says Harrington.
Harrington worked hard and made her to some of the op stations in the country, but it was no cake walk.
“One of the things that I would say to anyone that is about to graduate is, be a professional. Act like a professional, dress like a professional, prepare, study,” said Harrington.
Harrington is a successful general sales manager at a leading CBS affiliate.
“If you’re constantly doing your job you’re over-delivering if you’re putting your best foot forward and excelling you really can’t, it’s hard to deny excellence,” said Harrington.
Harrington says to put some time in, to do some homework and figure it out.
