Being over seas during the holidays is never an easy task to fulfill, however, Judith Perez finds herself to be thankful for the opportunities she’s been presented with, including a home away from home.

Although, Thanksgiving isn’t a holiday celebrated in Spain, Perez gives thanks to friends at the University of Montevallo for providing her with an American Thanksgiving.

On her third celebration Judith is able to understand a more southern view of  the holiday, at least culinary aspects. With dishes such as peach cobbler, green bean casserole and sweet potato.

Judith says she’s excited to “Eat all of the American food.”

Teammate and best friend Allye Darnell offers a humble side of southern hospitality by welcoming the Barcelona native to her farm in Kentucky to spend the week off.

While the two plan to spend their Thanksgiving riding horses and eating gourmet turkey, Judith’s heart is still set on seeing her family this December.
