On April 11th, state legislators and superintendents gathered at the Alabama Activity Center in Montgomery, Alabama to hear proposals from the Alabama Artistic Literacy Consortium in hopes of receiving more funding to support new art programs across the state.

These programs will not only allow students to build upon their creativity and artistic skills but will also allow teachers to delve into news ways of teaching in the classroom.

Currently, there are only three funded programs in certain areas of the state: Tuscaloosa, Greater Birmingham, and Huntsville.

The directors from all three programs are hoping to expand these ways of teaching across the state, county by county and school by school.
