Grooving to the music is one thing, but grooving for a cause is another. The sisters of Phi Mu hosted their inaugural philanthropy event “Grooving For A Cure” on April 17th, to help raise awareness and money for the CMNH, better known as the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.
For the event, different Greek organizations were able to come and take part and different activities such as: a hoola-hoop contest, limbo, freeze dance, and a HUGE dance party.
For the event each organization had the opportunity to cast a vote for this years dancing queen and king. This years queen was Chi Omega’s Peri McCoy, and Phi Gamma Delta’s Solomon Balaam-Reed.
“It’s so much fun and it’s something we’ve never done before; and it’s really exciting and really great for all the kids,” said sorority member Kyra Shobe.
At the end of the event, everyone came together to do one final dance, the “cha-cha slide”.
All proceeds went towards the Children’s Miracle Network.
