Learning how to draw can be one of the most challenging things you can do, but with the right help you can do it.
During the Forte Festival, Montevallo hosted a “How To Draw Comics For People Who Don’t Know How To Draw” workshop. And it’s exactly what it sounds like.
The workshop was extended to guests of all ages at a beginners level, to help them further their skills in drawing comics.
The workshop was led by none other than Associate English professor, Dr. Alex Beringer.
“One of the things that we are really interested in emphasizing here is that it’s good to know how to draw and illustrate,” said Dr. Beringer.
However, it wasn’t all fun and games. While drawing, students had to go by specific guidelines and complete certain challenges within a time limit.
At the end of the event, the students were able to mix and mingle and show off their drawings to one another while enjoying refreshments.
Students were able to take their drawings home to continue their drawings, in hopes of becoming new comic artist.
