Welcome to my home town, Dothan, Al. Well at least a part of it.
Dothan, is 3 1/2 hours south of Montevallo, and is home to one of the best hotspots in the southeast, Westgate Park.
At Westgate, guest can enjoy many different things such as going to the indoor gym and playing basketball, the indoor gym, or taking a dive in the indoor pool.
If you’re more of a outdoorsy person, then don’t worry, Westgate has things for you to enjoy too as well, such as: playing tennis, kicking the soccer ball around at the soccer fields, and watching baseball games with family and friends.
Towards the back of Westgate, there are nature trails that guests can choose to walk down or ride their bikes and enjoy the nice breeze.
If you would like to exercise your brain a little, then you can also take a trip to the community library and enjoy your favorite book. While you’re at it, make sure you take a picture with one of our many mascots, “The Peanut”.
If none of this interests you, no worries, Dothan has its very own beach at Westgate: Water World.
Water World is what I like to call “a park inside of a park”. Guest can enjoy the enormous wave pool, race friends down the three lane water slide, or ride down the Great White!
So if you ever decide to come down south, make sure you stop by Westgate, I promise you won’t be disappointed.
