Students gather in the pool to watch the Captain Marvel Movie.
On Friday , The university’s student government association held their first dive-in movie at the student retreat center on campus. The movie that was chosen by the campus student body was Captain Marvel.
About 30 people attended this event. Attendees of the dive-in movie were welcomed with a free small box of Chick-fil-a and a free 32 ounce soft drink.
As the night continued, students started grabbing their floats, along with their friends to swim in the pool and enjoy the two-hour film.
SGA Director Anakate Andrasko believes the event brings awareness to new students about upcoming events happening around Montevallo.
“It was to let the new students know their fellow classmates and to kind of bring an atmosphere where its not just a classroom, its not just sitting down and getting to knowpeople in your major.. its getting too know everyone, kind of like getting you able to mingle , like a fun and relaxed way.
Even , students felt that the “Dive in” event was beneficial. Nadirah Ibrahim said she came in support of the swim team.
” It was amazing. I would totally do it again if I had a chance every night,” said Ibrahim.
SGA plans to host events each month to bring the community into the city of Montevallo.
