After three years of consecutive losses, Purple Side is ready for their comeback. Purple Side hosts what is called a “Baby Purple Mixer” in order to help incoming freshmen and new purples feel welcome into the side. They set up booths in the Student Retreat Center where students can sign up and learn more on how to get involved with Purple Side and College Night in general. I asked the leaders Bria Owens and Dakota Patrick what felt different about Purple Side this year, and what the side was doing in order to claim their victory in 2020.
“We’re around each other more, we’re having more events, we’re coming out we’re being purple. It’s not just about playing the games it’s about being purple. And I think that that is a huge key to success and I can’t wait to see where it carries us in February.” Dakota Patrick says.
“I think that everyone is just tired. I think that people have lost for the past three years and they are like no that’s not happening this year. I definitely think that we’ve always had passion but now its passion times a thousand.” says Bria Owens.
