On October 23, The history department at the University of Montevallo hosted an Antique Roadshow.

Family heirlooms and antiques were spread across a table to be priced by students.

Assistant Professor John Bawden said, “Antiques Montevallo Roadshow is to have fun and to generate interest in historical objects.”

Although Bawden created the event faculty and staff were excited to bring items of their own. Librarian, Kathy Lowe brought in several items one passed down to her from her childhood.

She propped her father’s old radio on the table and said she keeps it in her office because its cool.

“We could pick up the radio in Rome and hear the Pope. It was cool because we grew up Catholic.” Said Lowe

This was the first Antiques Roadshow at the University of Montevallo. Bawden got the idea from the PBS show Antiques Roadshow. As the organizer, Bawden said he hoped for a large crowd.
