The 14th Annual Run for Reseach was held Nov. 7 at the University of Montevallo. Organizers and participants were afraid that heavy rain would force the event to cancel.
Chemistry professor Dr. Tidwell said, ” It’s usually held in the spring this is the first time we’ve experienced rain.”
Each year the run is held to promoted undergraduate research and the winner of the race wins a special prize for the department they represent.
Dr. Joseph Landers from the music department laughed and said, “This is my fourteenth time running!”
Which was true for most of the participants that day. All of them had run every year so a little rain wouldn’t stop them this year.
The front of the Student Activity Center acted as a finish line as soaking wet runners ran through.
