Hurricane Zeta made its way through central Alabama in the early hours of Thursday morning, leaving a vast amount of storm damage and approximately 494,000 without power Thursday.

In response to Hurricane Zeta, the University of Montevallo closed campus Thursday and Friday. Large swaths of Montevallo lost power, and the city had multiple road closures due to storm damage.

On-campus there are trees down on King Quad, along King-Harman Street, and outside of Reynolds Hall.

Leading into campus both Highland street and Nabors street are shutdown due to large trees blocking the road.

One of Orr Park’s famous carved trees is also down as a result of Hurricane Zeta.

As of Sunday, Alabama Power says only 84,000 power outages remain statewide.
