Approximately 200 members of the University of Montevallo’s community received Moderna vaccines throug the University’s vaccine clinic Wednesday, March 31st.
This clinic provided vaccines to faculty and staff of the University, including dozens of student workers. This is the latest effort by the University, along with the nation as a whole, to advance the rate of individuals who are vaccinated to help slow the spread and effect of COVID-19.
The University is also planning to host a second vaccination clinic, Wednesday, April 14th, for students who were ineligible for the previous vaccination clinic. Students who wish to receive the Johnson & Johnson vaccine must sign up via the link sent to their student accounts. Vaccines are reserved on a first-come-first-serve basis.
This is ahead of the University decision to proceed with an in-person graduation this year, offering the opportunity for past seniors to cross the stage who were previously barred from doing so due to COVID-19 precautions.
