Severe storms have made their way into Alabama, prompting multiple schools, including the University of Montevallo, to delay or cancel school.
The University of Montevallo delayed opening until 10 am Monday February 15th. For Tuesday, February 16th, University offices will open at 10 am, classes will begin at 11 am, and dining services will be available under normal operating hours.
Regularly scheduled sentinel testing for Tuesday the 16th has been cancelled, students effected by this cancellation will receive an email from guide safe.
Many Alabamians can expect to see inclement weather involving icy roads throughout Tuesday, and according to meteorologists possibly Wednesday as well.
Temperatures across the state are expected to dip into the teens Monday night leading into Tuesday morning with the National Weather Service describing these conditions as “life-threatening cold.”
In addition to icy conditions in central, west, and north Alabama, south Alabama is expected to see tornado activity within the next few days.
