Clubs and organizations are a part of college life. Clubs and organizations have an accepted goal in common and the UM Crocs Club is no different.
UM Crocs Club was founded in October 2019 by current alumni, Sarah Engle. Engle made the club to get those interested in Crocs to come together and share their interest.
UM junior, studying FCS, Abbie Clark, is the current president of Crocs Club. Clark describes the club as, “An organization where students can wear crocs and spend time in a positive environment and participate in fun events.”
Most organizations and groups on Montevallo’s campus have a mission statement and purpose for being on campus.
Clark describes UM Crocs Club mission as: “The mission of Crocs Club is to foster an environment of self expression and confidence upon the campus of the University of Montevallo. This club is a place where Croc shoe supporters can proudly associate themselves with a community of individuals who share a similar passion and appreciation for Crocs.”
Being involved in different groups and organizations on campus will allow students to meet people outside of their major, friend group and classes.
Clark says it is easy to get involved into the Crocs Club, she says, “In order to get involved you may either join our GroupMe or our FalconLink page.”
Rivers Hayley is a UM sophomore studying Psychology and Sociology with a focus in Criminology and serves as Crocs Clubs Recruitment Chair. Hayley has been a member of Crocs Club since her freshman year because of her friend and sorority sister Abbie Clark.
Hayley recommends the Crocs Club because: “Crocs Club isn’t a big time requirement, but you still have fun with the events we host. We just come together to get to know each other, have fun, relax and build friendships which is always good.”
On October 26 Crocs Club had a social event on Main Quad to get more students involved. Since Crocs Club has been on UM’s campus for two years, the club will be formally recognized as a club this year if enough students become involved.
To get involved or find out more information go to FalconLink and search “Crocs Club” or contact Abbie Clark.
