Two UM organizations on campus are doing their part to help spread holiday cheer.

The UM M.A.D.E program and Outdoor Scholars program is taking up donations that help benefit Shelby County Emergency Assistance.

UM Snack, Toy, and Toiletries drive will benefit both the UM community and Shelby County citizens.

“We are uniting to help those affected by all the challenges that the holidays bring, whether that may be food challenges, or kids that need Christmas toys for the holidays,” said Jason Perry, M.A.D.E Student Coordinator.

Donations will be taken up until November 15. Places where donations are being collected are throughout campus are Global and Community Outreach, Resident Halls, Student Life, and Calking Hall.

After the deadline has passed, items that have been collected will be dropped off at Shelby County Emergency Assistance.

Perry said he’s excited to see the UM community come together for a great cause. “Really excited to see what we can be able to provide as a community and greater surrounding areas.”

For any donations that’s made after the deadline contact Shelby County Emergency Assistance directly for more information.
