If you have ever been curious about what research at the graduate level could look like, then UM’s McNair program can be a good place to start.
The University of Montevallo’s TRIO McNair program is an effort to prepare college students for doctoral study while still in undergraduate studies.
McNair’s Postbaccalaureate Achievement program was created as a tribute to Dr. Ronald E. McNair, the second African American to make a flight into space. A federally-funded program to assist first-generation, limited-income students, and students underrepresented in graduate education.
By part taking in the program, students receive many resources to properly prepare them for research in their fields.
Dr. Tonya Giddens, Coordinator for McNair, said Not only do students have great opportunities, but they also gain a strong support system and lasting relationships.”
Any students looking to learn more about the program, or applying to the program should visit the McNair office or its website.
