UM’s Mass Communication Program hosted Media Day on Feb. 23. The networking fair was held in the Student Activity Center from 10-11:30 a.m.
The purpose of the event is for students to meet potential employers and explore possible career paths related to the field communication.
More than a dozen companies took part in this year’s Media Day, including Express Oil Change, Lake Homes Realty, WBRC Fox 6, CBS 42, and Alabama Public Television. Most of the companies had positions open ready to hire.
Dr. Danielle Deavours, Assistant Professor of Multimedia Journalism, said the overall goal is to help students figure out their potential career paths.
“It’s an opportunity for students to network with different Media organizations and learn more about each of the industries to see potential opportunities,” Dr. Deavours said.
