Updowns is a Montevallo student produced episodic written, directed and produced by Tyson Evans and filmed by Liam Nagle.

The story line of Updowns is “based on going through the ups and downs of life as a college student,” Evans said.
“It opens up with all the students essentially in their freshman year and throughout the show you are going to see them navigate through their college life, whether it is their family backgrounds, sexual orientation backgrounds, or maybe even the majors they are involved in. It is trying to find who you want to be and the things you want to do in your life,” said Evans.
Why?
Even though this project will be graded in the MC 330: Digital Filmmaking Fundamentals class, Evans stated, “This is a project I started working on prior to that class, so for me it is more of a personal thing.”
Nagle, his director of photography, goes on to say, “For me it is just passion and wanting to work with Tyson, because I am not getting a grade for this.”
Budget
Evans gave himself a budget of $200 to produce the episode. He shortly learned after production began that he would not be able to follow his budget but would end up going over his budget due to craft services, props, and costumes.
Plans for the Release and the Future of the Show
When asked about the release of the pilot Evans and Nagle said, “It is to be decided, the current plan now is to send it to a couple film festivals.”
When asked about the release of the pilot Evans and Nagle mentioned that they are shooting to release the pilot in the month of May.
The pilot will be released on YouTube, as well as posted to their website that is currently in the process of being created.
After the wrap of the pilot Evans plans to continue with production of Updowns. Evans also plans to carry on his work with Nagle as his Director of Photography.
