Ever wanted to know how life would be after college? For students that participated in TRIO Student Support Services Game of Life, they were able to figure that out.

The Game of Life was part of Financial Literacy week. It was held in Anna Irvin Dining Hall on April 7, and there were other events hosted throughout the week as well.

Some of the events that took place for Financial Literacy week were Cash Cab, Banking Your Bread, and Financial Literacy Bingo.

Director of Trio Students Support Services, Dr. Portia Stallworth said, she hopes students learn the importance of budgeting and life after college.

“Students got the chance to see what life would be like after collge. They recieved an info card about their life, and were challenged with figuring out their monthly budget,” said Stallworth.

The different tables students went around and visited were Uncle Sam, Falcon Utilities, Falcon Childcare and Education just to name a few.

Following the Game of Life there was a brief speaker as well that talked about the importance of managing your finances, and learning how to properly budget too.

“For students to learn of all the different responsibilties that they will have after college, and being able to expierence the real world it’s a way for them to see what their life could look like after they graduate,” said Stallworth.
