On Tuesday, October 19th, the Black Student Union at the University of Montevallo hosted a pink out to spread awareness for breast cancer awareness.

They put out a flyer that encouraged the student body to join them and wear the color pink to raise awareness on campus.

If you don’t know exactly what the Black Student Union is, Black Student Union President Nyla Shipman gave her detailed overview of the organization

Nyla said ” The Black Student Union is a minority group on campus, that is a majority of black students. It is a place for them to feel comfortable, a place for them to feel like themselves and be surrounded by people that look like them”
