Christmas in Montevallo is a wonderful time to live here and explore Main street. Decorations cover light posts and businesses the entire way down. People around here really seem to know how to get into the spirit.
On campus though, things can sometimes seem different. Finals season is in full swing so Christmas is not always at the forefront of people’s minds. The hustle and bustle and grind of the end of the semester makes it easy to forget how close we are to the wonderful day.
And more importantly how close we are until we are out of school
I went on Campus to ask some Christmas questions and hopefully spread a little bit of that Christmas cheer the movies are always talking about
The first thing I found about Montevallo Students is they aren’t your typical big gift wanting college kids.
Of the 9 people I interviewed most of them wanted clothes or shoes. Sophomore Micah Drinkard and Junior Abby Truitt both wanted shoes cause theirs are falling apart.
Freshman William Burke and Braxton Johnson want socks because they “love socks” and they run through them quickly.
I guess Montevallo Students are the people you hear about that are grateful to receive clothes for Christmas
They also have fantastic taste in Christmas movies. When asked what her favorite movie was, Delaney Eaves responded simply Elf. As did many of the others I interviewed.
Taste in Christmas movies is subjective, but to this reporter that is the definition of good taste. And the best possible way to spread Christmas cheer.
Good luck with Finals Falcons!
And Merry Christmas!
