Montevallo continues its six-year-long streak of continuing to freeze its tuition prices. The current tuition price hasn’t changed since the 2018-2019 school year in an effort to make college accessible to prospective students.

The University of Montevallo’s Board of Trustees approved the decision on Feb. 10 of this year. The current tuition rate for in-state students is $403 per one credit hour, and the cost for out-of-state students is $837 per one credit hour.
President Stewart spoke highly of the decision, saying, “Trustees, faculty, staff and benefactors have made a quality college degree accessible and affordable for high school graduates, community college transfers and adult learners. Freezing tuition for another year helps tremendously as we prepare our students for thoughtful citizenry and meaningful careers.”

The university is also waiving ACT and SAT scores for admission and scholarships until fall 2024.
Undergraduate freshmen must meet 3.0 GPA requirements, and any student with less than a 3.0 GPA will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Free College Application Week will be Feb. 20-24, and UM will participate to continue its efforts in college affordability. High school seniors, transfer students and graduate students are eligible to apply, but this does not include graduate applications for Speech-Language Pathology program.
