For the seventh year in a row, the University of Montevallo Board of Trustees has voted to freeze tuition rates. The vote occurred on Feb 16 and adds to UM’s continued commitment to educational affordability.

UM President Dr. John W. Stewart III said in a press release, “We continue to prioritize reducing costs for high school graduates, community college transfers, adult learners and their families. In addition to freezing tuition, we’ve continued to increase funding for institutional scholarships each year to help our students continue to pursue meaningful lives and careers.”

For in-state students, tuition falls at $403 per credit hour. The rate for out-of-state students is almost twice as much at $837.

In addition to frozen tuition rates, UM still no longer requires ACT or SAT scores during the application process. Any students without a test score will be awarded a scholarship as long as they have a 3.0 cumulative high school GPA.

Students can also take advantage of Free College Application Week, Feb 19-23. UM will not have an application fee during this time. For more information on admission requirements for all students, click here.
