It’s time at the University of Montevallo to nominate and vote for faculty and staff for the “Brickies.”  

The Brickies are a set of awards given to staff and faculty voted by students, faculty, staff and alumni.The campus asks to note the department that the nominee works for on the ballot.  

The nomination award list includes:

  • Soaring Spirit: faculty or staff who has the most UM spirit
  • Departmental Distinction: Recognizing a department that consistently goes above and beyond in fostering collaboration, teamwork, and excellence in supporting both faculty, staff, and students.   
  • Handy Helper: Physical Plant worker or UM Police Officer who goes above and beyond for the UM students, Faculty, and Staff.
  • Passion Pursuer: Faculty or staff member with the coolest/most unique hobby. Must note the department and hobby.
  • Engaging Educator: Faculty member with the most engaging lecturing style.
  • Superb Supporter: Administrative Assistant who is always ready to assist, guide, and support students, faculty, and staff at UM.
  • Dynamic Duo: A powerful pair of outstanding UM employees.
  • Amazing Alum: An alum who works on campus that is a great representative of a UM education or an alum who works on campus that is a great UM ambassador. This person must be a graduate of UM to be nominated. 
  • Office Oasis: Faculty or staff member whose office has exceptional snacks and swag supplies
  • Mentorship Maestro: Faculty or staff member who excels in providing guidance, mentorship, or advising to students.  
  • Brick-Trotter: Faculty or staff who you see everywhere on the bricks.
  • Campus Comedy Connoisseur: Faculty or staff who has the best sense of humor.

Nominations for award contention will be from now to March 7th. However, voting will officially begin March 8th-14th with winners being announced March 18th.
