VVN presents: Shelby County Spotlight

Located off Highway 65 near Oak Mountain State Park, a hidden gem awaits. Built on nine acres of land, Stagecoach is more than just a store; it’s an experience. Offering everything from rustic decor to farm-fresh eggs, this antique shop is made for collectors and sellers.

Upon arrival, visitors are greeted with one of the store’s unique features, “Skelly,” a larger-than-life skeleton known as both a quirky mascot and according to owner April Taylor an “accidental advertiser,” adding to the shop’s charm and originality.

April Taylor has created a welcoming environment where everyone feels at home. Taylor’s passion for antiques has been a lifelong journey, and after years of managing other businesses, she decided to open her own three-story treasure box.

Originally searching for locations in Alabaster, Alabama, Taylor’s search was met with repeated setbacks. “Every building I had my eye on, the door kept getting shut in my face,” she said. However, with the help of her realtor she encountered an unlisted property.

Considering the change in city presence, the property soon to be April’s sparked a sense of nostalgia from her childhood, “I remember when I was younger, passing this place, my eyes would be glued to the windows,” Taylor reminisces. “It was perfect.”

Upon entering the doors, visitors encounter three stories brimming with collectibles. Stagecoach Antiques prides itself on their inclusive atmosphere, welcoming all who step through its doors, and always seeking new customers.
