The Alabamian is looking for new staff for this upcoming fall. All these positions are paid, students that are interested in writing, opinion pieces, and photography are encouraged to take part of this opportunity.

Positions include:

  • News Editor
  • Lifestyle Editor
  • Graphic Designer
  • Copy Editor
  • Podcast producer
  • Assistant Business Editor

Current Lifestyle Editor, Ashlee Hall, who started her junior year shared how working at The Alabamian has been one of the highlights of her time at the university.

“Working at The Alabamian has been one of the best opportunities I have had during my time at Montevallo. The experiences I have gained from working with a collaborative group of editors has given me countless chances to expand upon the skills I have learned in my journalism classes,” said Hall.

Hall will be leaving The Alabamian this year as she prepares to take the stage on Flower Hill for graduation on May 4th. However, the experience she’s gained has given her confidence as she steps into the future.

“Being able to build a strong portfolio with my work from the newspaper and my classes, has given me so much confidence in my abilities that I am ready to take into my career,” said Hall.

As she departs from her position as Lifestyle editor, she leaves encouragement for those that may be interested in joining The Alabamian coming from the mass communication major.

“Working for The Alabamian has been an invaluable experience that I highly encourage every single mass communication student to take part in,” said Hall.
