MONTEVALLO, Ala. – From throwing axes to whack-a-mole to even smashing glass to your heart’s content in a virtual world, the University Program Council mobile rage room offered it all.

On Oct. 1, the UPC held a mobile rage room in Myrick gym at the University of Montevallo. The event, which was supplied by Simplified Entertainment, included a blow up axe-throwing station, some VR headsets, a Nerf gun shooting range, and even whack-a-mole.

Tom Bresadola, a worker for Simplified Entertainment, was happy to work with UPC.

“Setup was great,” he said, “especially with having the great helpers that we did.”

Bresadola recommended the event for anyone that’s looking for a good time. “It’s a good way to get out and meet people and also let out some rage.”

One of the stations that was offered was a rubber chicken tent where you could walk around and jump on the rubber chickens to activate the noise.

Hannah Carlisle, a member of UPC, was super excited to set up the event.

“The best part was the chicken area, just putting them all over the floor and getting to like jump all over them,” Carlisle said. “It was really fun!”

Carlisle suggested the event for people that are just looking to hit pause.“I would say UPC is a really easy way to come meet people, or if you don’t want to do that, honestly,” she said, “there’s just always something to do and somebody to talk to.”

“Come to UPC events. Come to them; they’re so much fun, please!”

Even though Carlisle worked, she had a fun time at the Nerf station and the axe-throwing station.

UPC holds events for students throughout the year. The next one is a fall crafts event which will be held later in October in the Student Retreat Center.

“It’s going to be super fun, super lowkey,” said Carlisle. “We’re going to make a bunch of suncatchers and like Halloween type decorations! It’ll be really fun!”

Carlisle encourages all students to come take a look at what UPC has to offer.
