MONTEVALLO, Ala. — Provenance Students, a student organization at the University of Montevallo, is hosting a Bible study on campus for UM students. The Bible study is held on Monday nights from 6:30 to 8:00, with the organization serving free dinner to those who attend.
The organization is directly affiliated with Provenance Church, a local church located on Main Street in Montevallo, Alabama. The Church started in 2019 with Marcus Mullet, the pastor at Provenance, leading the charge.
Pastor Mullet originally started the Bible study, but has since given Landon NeSmith, a member at Provenance Church, the reigns.

So what is the goal that NeSmith wants to achieve with the Bible study?
“I’m hoping to use my experiences and my knowledge to help further the walks of college students with their faith, and use that to further the gospel on campus,” NeSmith said. Students who have attended the weekly Bible study say it is encouraging.

The church also hosts a weekly Wednesday night service. That service starts at 6:00 and ends at 8:00, with a fresh meal being provided. The service also includes a lesson for teens, as the youth group at the church gathers upstairs. It contains a lesson for kids as well, with the children’s group gathering in the nursery.
The weekly Wednesday night service started in September 2024, and will not be held again until January 2025. The church held their last Wednesday night service of the year on Nov. 20.
Provenance Church hosts their Sunday services every weekend at 10:30 A.M.
