The finale of the 2025 College Night, or “Sweet Saturday,” saw Purple Side claim their 52nd victory in the University of Montevallo’s long-running homecoming tradition.
College Night’s finale began with Gold Side taking the stage with their show, “Masterpiece: The Art of the Clandestine and Confidential,” while Purple Side took the stage after with their show, “The Legacy of the Iron Witch.”
Gold Side Recap

Gold Side’s shows transport the audience into the world of espionage, secrecy, and the question of whodunit?
The show follows two detectives, Houston and Stephens, who are hired by a lonewolf spy, Fielding, to figure out who is stealing the valuable Lioness painting. It leads to them figuring out that the thief might be closer than they think.
Abbey Truitt, an Old Gold, performed in last year’s show got to view the show from a different perspective.
“It was super weird to see it for the first time as an audience member and not be part of the show,” says Truitt.
Purple Side Show Recap

Purple’s show throws the audience into a fantasy world that is filled with inclusivity, complex and strained relationships at the helm of it.
The show follows three witches, Helena, Sasha, and Natalia, who are on the search to bring their mother, Cora, back from the darkness that overtook her.
Aidan Peach, a Purple who performed in last year’s show, got to be behind the scenes this year
“It’s really wonderful because I get to see it from a different perspective being out here and just supporting them,” Peach said, “and it’s really a nice experience to just work behind the scenes.”
