After nearly seven years at the University of Montevallo, Police Chief Tim Alexander has announced his retirement.
During his time as police chief, the university has constantly ranked in the top ten safest schools in the state.
Another accomplishment that Alexander achieved during his time is starting the Albert P, Jones II Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The fund is used to benefit the University of Montevallo Police Department employees, their dependents, or a relative of Albert P. Jones II, who is a current student at the University of Montevallo.
Alexander is retiring with over 26 years of experience in law enforcement.
In an email sent out to faculty, the University of Montevallo has announced that Sergeant Brian Prady will become interim police chief starting March 1.
