MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The 2025 Festival of Tulips has officially come to an end, concluding on Sunday, March 23.
The festival is held annually at the American Village in Montevallo, and the festival typically begins in late February and lasts about a month, remaining open as long as the tulips are in bloom.

Now in its ninth year, the Festival of Tulips was originally created to draw visitors beyond just the historic village, encouraging them to return year after year. With thousands of tulips in vibrant hues, the event has become a beloved spring tradition.
Melanie Poole the Communications officer says that this year they had an amazing turnout, and as the years go on the festival keeps growing bigger and bigger.
“This year we decided to plant a no-pick area, for photographs only because we found that on the weekends people came out and picked all the color in the field, so come Monday and Tuesday it might not have looked as pretty as it could. So we planted a huge area with 12 thousands tulips that are for photographs only,” Poole says.
Looking Ahead: Bigger Plans for 2026
As the festival grows in popularity, organizers are already making plans to expand next year’s display. Poole shared that in addition to planting even more tulips, the 2026 festival will feature a special tribute to America’s semiquincentennial, the nation’s 250th anniversary.
“Next year will be the 10th anniversary of the American village festival of tulips, we’re already saying we will plant more tulips and next year is the 250 birthday of our country, the semiquincentennial,” Poole says, “And we are planning to plant an american flag.”
