MONTEVALLO, Ala— Tucked along Valley Street in the heart of Montevallo sits Team Lehman Realty, a place where keys unlock more than just doors.

For founders Susan Lehman and Susana Vazquez, it’s where home begins with heart and business begins with purpose.

When Lehman, a former educator, stepped away from the classroom, she wasn’t leaving behind her passion for helping people. She was simply finding a new way to do it.

“And so, if we can help them — even with the high interest rates and even with the higher requirements for getting a loan and so forth — if we can help them find a path to homeownership, then, you know, we’re going to be fine,” Lehman said.

By her side is Vazquez, a driven, bilingual professional with a deep love for the community and her heritage.

For her, real estate is about more than transactions ,it’s about trust, connection and representation.

“Just helping out the community, educating them — it’s something that means a lot to me,” Vazquez said. “And that’s why we formed Su Casa Latino — so the community can see themselves in Su Casa and know that it’s someone who’s bilingual.”

Together, Lehman and Vazquez have created more than a real estate team — they’ve built a team grounded in service.

Their passion for people spills out of the office and into Montevallo’s streets, most visibly through the city’s growing Día de los Muertos Festival — an event the two helped bring to life.

“The community here in Montevallo really enjoyed it. I mean, they almost didn’t want to leave the event once it was over, so that was very nice,” Vazquez said.

“And to hear good feedback from the community — how they enjoyed it, and not just the Hispanic community, but all cultures, all people were coming and enjoying and learning the culture and understanding what this means to us — it’s really deeply appreciated.”

In every house showing, every festival, every heartfelt conversation, Team Lehman is reshaping what it means to be in real estate.
