MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo’s Carmichael Library will have no air conditioning from May 5-23 to allow for the final phase of campus infrastructure improvements to be completed, according to information sent from UM’s Office of Marketing and Communications.

The library will still be open during during this time, but in-person hours will be reduced to 8-10 a.m. Monday through Friday throughout May Term, the three-week term between the end of the spring semester and Memorial Day weekend. Library staff will work remotely for the remainder of regular business hours on those days and will be available via email.

The university says building hours may change depending on the infrastructure project’s progress.

Meanwhile, patrons will still have full access to Carmichael Library’s resources during this time, including books, DVDs and interlibrary loan items.

The library is also offering curbside pickup, which can be requested online with 24 hours’ notice. Items will be available for pickup at the checkout desk.

The library’s expansive online resources can be accessed on its website 24/7.
