MONTEVALLO, Ala. – On Oct. 27th, the University Program Council (UPC) and Housing and Residence Life teamed up once again to host their annual Haunted Village, a long-standing Montevallo tradition that keeps the spirit of spooky season alive on campus.

Held inside Myrick Hall Gym, the event transformed the space into a Halloween wonderland filled with glowing decorations, carnival games, and inflatable attractions. From towering ghosts and grinning pumpkins to the Halloween soundtrack, the gym was unrecognizable, offering students a full-on immersive experience of festive fun without ever leaving campus.

The Haunted Village featured classic arcade setups, mini-games and interactive stations that encouraged students to relax, laugh and enjoy the night together. The energy in the gym was contagious, as students lined up for games, won prizes and posed for photos. Junior Kaytlin Hines, a resident assistant for Housing and Residence Life, has participated each year since she was a freshman. “I enjoy coming every year, because it allows me to live out my inner child.”

Madison Holloway worked the event with UPC, but she also got to enjoy some of the games. She said the Haunted Village was “a chance to take a break from classes and just have fun.”
