MONTEVALLO, Ala.— The university is hoping to add another scholarship to their list to help provide students with the financial assistance they need, especially for the less fortunate.
Dr. Tammi Dahle currently serves as the Executive Vice President for Student Affairs here at the university, and thanks to the efforts provided from herself and her husband, the Dahle family and the university have worked to provide a scholarship for the less fortunate. Dahle tells me that this scholarship will be needs based and is planned to go into effect starting next fall.
Dr. Dahle tells me that the university financial aid office and the supporting donors have been very helpful during this process of creating the scholarship. With these two in support along with the university, the goal is to distribute roughly four percent of the overall funds gather for this scholarship and can be rewarded to more than one student (up to $2000 each).
Dahle informed me that the funds gather for the scholarship are not raised within the family, they simply just wanted to give back to the community.
If I can help one student a year, that’s a real investment in that student’s life and the university.
– Dr. Tammi Dahle
Upcoming freshmen and returning students will be able to apply for the scholarship as the following year approaches. Students are encouraged to speak with their advisors or visit the financial aid office in Palmer Hall if you have any questions or believe you may be eligible.
