MONTEVALLO Ala.–While the school year may be coming to a close, the semester is far from over for students preparing to run in the upcoming Student Government Association and College Night leader elections.

Candidates across campus are beginning their campaigns as they prepare to share their goals, platforms and ideas with the student body. The elections provide students the opportunity to vote for leaders who will represent their interests and help guide campus events through the next academic year.

As the election approaches, nominees from both SGA and College Night are introducing themselves to the student body and sharing what they hope to accomplish if elected.

Student Government Association Nominees

The Student Government Association plays a key role in representing the voice of the student body. SGA leaders work alongside university administration to address student concerns, allocate funding to student organizations and help plan campus events throughout the academic year.

Students elected to these positions will serve as advocates for their peers. Executive officers, including the president, vice president and treasurer, work closely with the senate to oversee legislation, manage budgets and guide initiatives that benefit the campus community.

In addition to executive positions, senators represent specific classes, colleges and groups on campus, ensuring that a wide range of student perspectives are included in discussions and decision-making.

College Night Leader Nominees

College Night remains one of the University of Montevallo’s most anticipated and longstanding traditions. Each year, students from across campus come together to participate in the spirited rivalry between Purple Side and Gold Side through performances, athletic competitions and other campus events.

The students selected as leaders play a significant role in organizing the months of preparation that lead up to the annual homecoming festivities. From coordinating practices to helping plan creative elements of the show, leaders help guide their sides while fostering school spirit among participants.

The following students have been nominated as College Night leader candidates and have begun to prepare their campaigns and share their vision for their respective sides.
