MONTEVALLO Ala.– Montevallo Men’s Basketball Head Coach Anthony Komara has resigned from his position at the University of Montevallo and has been named the head men’s basketball coach at AUM.

Komara’s four-year tenure at Montevallo was filled with many outstanding accomplishments, he finished with a 64-54 overall record. Year by year Komara improved his roster and overall team record, finishing the last two seasons with 20 plus wins.

Komara coached Tyler Moore who was named GSC Freshmen of the year in the 2022 season. Derek Moore who was also coached by Komara claimed GSC Player of the Year and All-American honors in the 2025 season.

Komara also led UM to its first NCAA Postseason appearance since 2016 following the 2024-25 season. While also achieving Montevallo’s highest GSC finish since the 2006-07 season with a third-place finish in 2025
