Members of the Greek Community love a good game of corn hole and last Thursday they got to enjoy some friendly competition for a good cause.
Greek life gathered on Main Quad that afternoon in support of Phi Mu’s 4th annual “Corn Hole Carnival” philanthropy.
In addition to the games, students with a “sweet tooth” enjoyed baked goods from the “Sweet Treats” booth. There were also other carnival activities like face painting and giveaways.
Other than the corn hole tournament and fun activities, students got to enjoy something more than a little competition.
Students gave back to the community by raising money for the Children’s Miracle Network
Although it was a “good feel” event, sorority members were eager to stay focused on raising as much money as possible for the kids.
Senior Phi Mu member Sarah Engle says, “We are really excited to see how much money we raise.”
The carnival themed philanthropy was a plus, but raising over $800 for children and families in need was the highlight of the sororities day.
Phi Mu Philanthropy Chair Charity Bowden says, “All of our money from today will go to children in Birmingham.”
The University of Montevallo Greek Life will continue to host a variety of philanthropies throughout the semester in support of different organizations.
