Sometimes making a first impression for a job opportunity or internship can be nerve wrecking. Some students may not know what to wear, what to say, or what to do.
For this reason, the University of Montevallo is gearing up to host their annual “Dress to Impress” event. On Wednesday, March 20th in the Anna Irvin Dining Hall, the Career Development Center will set up work shops, mock interviews, and a clothing rack!
“We have a place for students who are needing professional clothing as they gear up to go and interview for jobs, that they got a place that they can basically shop for a free outfit that they could use for those interviews and other opportunities.” said Sarah Hendren, Director of Partnerships and Outreach.
The “Dress to Impress” will bring professional clothing items for men and women of all sizes. These items will include dress shirts, dresses, and accessories like jewelry and ties. All of these items in which are donated by faculty, students, and the Montevallo community.
This is an opportunity for students to get tips on career readiness, but also a way for the Montevallo community to give back to their students.
Angie Kelly, Career Development Center Director is asking for people looking to get rid of professional clothes to continue to donate up until March 15th. The three drop off locations include, the UM Career Development Center, Comer Hall Office 301, and Montevallo City Hall.
