The 100th year of College Night at the University of Montevallo has come and gone and now it is on to a new era of the longest-running college homecoming tradition.

With the new season approaching, also come new beginnings.

For Alex Binion, Rylee Holt, Dakota Patrick, and Bria Owens those beginnings have kicked off as the recently chosen leaders of Gold Side and Purple Side of the 101st College Night.

After their third consecutive loss, Patrick and Owens hope Purple Side can take back the title with the power of family and community.

“A lot of people on the side want to see very similar things and similar areas to grow,” said Patrick. “When we achieve those, that alone will take us into a whole new style of Purple Side.”

Holt and Binion also said they value the family ideal and are both excited to have been chosen as the 2020 Gold Side Leaders.

“I am just so overwhelmed and ecstatic,” said Holt. “I’ve honestly never felt so honored to be a part of something.”
