Most college campuses offer a variety of resources to their student body to help them succeed in their education. Students have been seen to perform better in school after using resources provided by the campus.
Erik A. Hanushek says in “Assessing the Effects of School Resources on Student Performance: An Update”, “The relationship between school resources and student achievement has been controversial, in large part because it calls into question a variety of traditional policy approaches.”
This shows that there are many different views on the subject of college student resources, but the majority of articles say that resources are imperative to student success.
The article “Smart Students Take Full Advantage of Campus Resources” says, “Using these services can help you grow academically, teach you good time management skills that will stand in good stead all your life, find you a Spanish tutor, advise you on courses to take for the career you want and assist you with all health concerns that arise over your college career.”
These are all things that college students could use. Time management and academic success are two major aspects of a student’s college career.
Another article by Krista Carvar talks about how students are unaware of the resources available to them and that academic resources play a vital role in student retention.
Therefore, if college campuses can make sure their students know about their resource options, they will be more likely to succeed in their academic career.
“The Effect of School Resources on Student Achievement”, says “The analysis found that a broad range of resources were positively related to student outcomes, with effect sizes large enough to suggest that moderate increases in spending may be associated with significant increases in achievement”.

Freshman Hallie Grace Williamson said, “Student resources on campus have already helped me tremendously in my academic successes this year.”
