The Department of Art held an art gallery showcase viewing from Nov. 21- Dec. 2. for B.F.A Seniors in Bloch Hall in The Gallery.

For graduating seniors in the department this is a big deal. It’s a way to show off their work they have been doing the entire semester and year, and put it into a show for viewing.

One of the participates in this showcase Megan Boddie got the chance to show her work. She’s a double concentration major in painting and drawing as well as a minor in art history.

The theme of her artwork being shown is “Moments Elapsing,” and she got the theme and inspiration from her hometown of Fayetteville, Alabama.

“I got the idea of making artwork from my hometown, and then it just kind of expanded and I decided to use that in my BFA show,” said Boddie.

The main focus for most of the pieces that were featured in the show were mostly watercolor paintings and drawing as well. For most of her paintings and drawings she relates them to the people, place, and environment she grew up in.

People that are viewing her artwork she hopes people stop and think where they came from, and figure out who they really are. “Ask people to look at these pieces, and think about where they came from, who they are surrounding themselves with, and how that has made them into the person that they are today,” said Boddie.
