Finals week has once again consumed the University of Montevallo’s campus.

Studying for exams takes up the majority of students, but UM students need to stay proactive about their self-care during this week.

Taking care of yourself during finals is important, because according to the World Health Organization, students can become burned out with too much stress.

Luckily, amid student’s studying and testing, there are a few tips students can use to have a more successful finals week.

First, students should plan ahead. These plans can be as simple as packing a snack, or scheduling how you will study that day or when you’ll take breaks.

UM student, Jessie Lemley, explains how this simple tip gets her through the week, “Planning out your whole week prior to the week starting. Organizing your time, time-management.”

Some practices are as simple as setting a 20 minute timer, so you can stand and stretch.

Though planning ahead is a vital tip, UM students can find more finals self-care tips at the Crisistextline.org.
